Supporting Single Mothers Raising Children with Disabilities as they Pursue Higher Education
At Beyond the Diagnosis Foundation, Inc., we believe that motherhood and education should never be mutually exclusive. Many single mothers and children with disabilities face overwhelming financial, emotional, and time-related barriers while trying to complete their education.
Our Educational Scholarship Program was created to support these resilient mothers by providing financial assistance to help them continue their academic journey while caring for their children.
This scholarship reflects our mission to empower families, promote independence, and create opportunities for long-term stability.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be a single mother
- Be raising a child with a diagnosed disability
- Be currently enrolled in or planning to enroll in a college, university, trade school, or certification program
- Demonstrate a commitment to their education and future goals
- Reside in East Texas or surrounding communities
What the Scholarship Supports
Funds may be used for:
- Tuition and school fees
- Books and educational materials
- Certification or training programs
- Other education-related expenses
Scholarship Timeline
Applications Open: May 1
Applications Close: July 31
Recipient Selected: August 26
The scholarship recipient will be publicly announced during our Special Needs Mommy and Me prom, where we celebrate strength, dedication, and resilience of mothers in our community.
The selected recipient will be invited to attend the event and receive their award during the evening celebration.
